There is an old saying that you get what ever the traffic will bear. IOW ask high and negotiate from there. If possible read the "Help Wanted" for India in your line of work. They may mention income, I don't know much about India but I can always tell when I am speaking to some one there because of the accent. Assume that you can speak and understand good English.
