Mathematical PageRanks (out of 100) for a simple network (PageRanks reported by google are rescaled logarithmically). Page C has a higher PageRank than Page E, even though it has fewer links to it: the link it has is much higher valued. A web surfer who chooses a random link on every page (but with 15% likelihood jumps to a random page on the whole web) is going to be on Page E for 8.1% of the time. (The 15% likelihood of jumping to an arbitrary page corresponds to a damping factor of 85%.) Without damping, all web surfers would eventually end up on Pages A, B, or C, and all other pages would have PageRank zero. Page A is assumed to link to all pages in the web, because it has no outgoing links.Image via Wikipedia

To keep the costs of your internet business down but at the same time improve the number of visitors your get to your site you need to seriously consider article marketing. People searching for a particular subject ca find your article listed in a number of places and then follow the link(s) it contains back to your main site. It is a simple matter to submit your article to these places which should, wherever possible, be popular websites; an increase in visitors to your site should happen quite quickly. Large, well visited sites are generally trusted so if your content is accepted, it should improve your reputation as well; you will become a ‘trusted’ person which means a great deal in the virtual world.

Article marketing carried out this way (i.e. more than once) will get people to look upon you as an author whose work they will seek out because the content is good. Showing people you are knowledgeable on certain topics means they will trust whatever you write and bookmark your site. Although it can take a while, this traffic from people that trust you will help your own search engine ranking; you should find that in time that more visitors that have found you in the search engines improves. The benefit of all these sites linking to your site is a increase in your ranking; the greatest benefit of this is none of it is costing you a single dollar!

With article marketing, a number of links to other sites can be inserted into it and providing there aren’t too many you will not be penalized. When your articles are good, they get spread around the internet and of course each version will have links back to your own so the more links you have, the more your ranking will grow. Sometimes, however, search engines can take some time before they actually list your site; Google can actually take months on occasion. Although you cannot rush the search engines directly, submitting more articles and using the authority sites will help enormously.

To increase your website ranking further, you need to be adding more content (preferably unique) to your website (or blog) all the time if you want your article marketing to work. Remember that visitors do not know that your website is trying to get them to buy something. Visitors are searching for information so the more precise and truthful you can be about whatever it is you are promoting the better. This is the ideal time to highlight the benefits of the product or service to the visitor. This procedure is almost like a safety net because you are explaining the process to them so they will not misunderstand. It is this approach that prevents a good many refunds form taking place.

If you want visitors to your websites then you must continue your article marketing this way; regularly submitting articles is necessary and should not be viewed as something you only have to do once. Remember, if you have an interesting site you will also receive links from other website owners who may also use your article as well; having your articles on numerous sites just improves the exposure of your site. Article marketing is still by far the easiest way to drive traffic to your website and it doesn’t cost a cent; all you have to do is ensure your content is ‘on topic’ and unique to have constant visitors.
