When over 2000 searches were made, there turned out to be a statistically valid correlation of “+42″ showing that websites with shorter URL’s ranked better.
If the URL was between 11 and 20 characters then (as you can see) it was more likely to be grouped on the left, in the #1 position.
We can look at “www.marketing109.com” and find it comes in at 18.
Q: Does having a URL 41-50 characters affect ranking?
A. Yes; It DECREASES ranking.

Here we can see that a longer URL is bad news for ranking purposes.
I’m not going to go into details on this information.
Do a bunch of searches and check the data yourself.
List the top 10 results from any search and see if you see
the same trends. Then try it with 100 results, then 1000 or more.
The more you check, the more it will match this information.
