There are so many operating systems available in the market that it’s difficult to decide which one is the best. Search the Internet for information on the following operating systems, and draw a table that compares them in terms of scalability, ease of use, reliability, and cost:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Linux
Based on the above analysis, which operating system will you recommend for the following requirements:
The finance department of XYZ Inc. has hired two trainees to work on a simple database application. Users are going to use the computer for the first time.
Smart Shoppers need to use an OS with easy to use interface and have also the capability to support dual processors.
A non-profit organization wants to host a Web site and needs a computer to host the Web site. They want a cost-effective solution for hosting the Web site.

“The finance department of XYZ Inc. has hired two trainees to work on a simple database application. Users are going to use the computer for the first time.”
Windows 2000 or xp will do for this. Linux requires a bit more savvy to maintain.
“Smart Shoppers need to use an OS with easy to use interface and have also the capability to support dual processors.”
XP is an easy interface that supports dual processors.
“A non-profit organization wants to host a Web site and needs a computer to host the Web site. They want a cost-effective solution for hosting the Web site.”
Linux is ideal for web servers. It’s open source so it’s cheap.

I,Pamela,am a online freshman college student going through a Unversity for a Bachelor degree for Computer Science Information Technology for the next 2 years.

The questions posted by David that he wanted everyone to answer for him is for Technology class. I know this for certain. The class I am in right now, right this minute myself has the same questions on my assignments. The same exact questions I have and am doing right now for week 2.

David, I am in the same exact class you are looking for answers for. If you are falling behind in class, then you need to rescheudal yourself so you can study.

    Buzz words,true and false, discussions,
lectures, questions, and schoolwork is your own to do.

David, Read your books and listen to the software that came with the needed materials for your program.

You will find your info in the book called: Complete Technology in action 6th edition Authors: Alan Evans,Kendall Martin,Mary Anne Poasty. Both cds you need are included in the back of the book.

The answers are IN THE BOOK, ON THE SOFTWARE, AND ON THE SCHOOL SITE.

You can rent the books,or get ebooks….
You can buy it online cheaper than in school.
Check out half.com and Ebay. They sell it. I saw it. I am an ebay seller, so I am on there all of the time.

Ask your class mates, grab a study buddy, or team up with class mates, you might get the answers that way too. Or even from your professor or instructor.

Cheating …. not cool man! You know the rules. If you needed help, ask for it without excpecting every answer handed to you. Ask it with honesty. Where is your effort?

This next week you will probably be learning how to assemble a computer like I will be. I am not the smartest cookie, I have a mental disability, having troubles, but,I am doing it on my own.

For the next 3 weeks I will be doing tech class. Then I am going onto Algebra…. my worst subject ever. I do not know what is after that. I am an online student.

    Study!David,study!

    God bless,
    Pam / Peaches6671
