Think of it as going to Hollywood to become an actor. Many go, many fail. The problem is unless you have the skill set/experience they need, you won't be able to find work until you are in LA. In that time, you need to find a place to live (which is outrageously expensive) as well as find the money to move (that's not cheap at all!).
Being from the San Diego area, I can say that after the Dot-com bust, most companies went after people with degrees. Experience was not good enough. With so many people in the LA/OC/SD area with computer experience, it made job hard to find.
HOWEVER, I know the San Diego area is desperate for .NET programmers and other web developers. San Diego also have somewhat affordable housing if you're willing to live further east.

$60-80k is about $25-35k in Florida, does it still look worth it?
Do you have ALL the requirments, skills, experience, software and education?
Do you know anyone that you could crash on their couch while you look?
How much money do you have saved to live while you find work?
Do you realize that the economy is tanking and it may be much harder to find a job than you think it will be?
Look at this decision from all angles before you make a move like that.
Good luck to you
